Iceland
Akureyri

Our Northern Iceland adventure began in Akureyri, taking us through some of the region’s most dramatic volcanic and geothermal landscapes. We visited Goðafoss waterfall, explored the otherworldly lava formations of Dimmuborgir, and travelled around Lake Mývatn, where volcanic craters and wetlands create an important habitat for wildlife. At the geothermal area of Hverir, we saw steaming fumaroles, bubbling mud pots and colourful mineral-rich ground. It's a vivid reminder that Iceland’s landscape is still being shaped by powerful forces beneath the Earth’s surface.
